Itinerary

This private vacation tour starts with your driver picking you up in the morning at your riad/hotel. Head toward the High Atlas Mountains, crossing them via the Tizi n Tichka Pass, the highest road pass in Morocco with amazing views. Follow the road of One Thousand Kasbahs, passing the Skoura oasis, and visit another important Kasbah Amineter, featured in many brochures about Morocco. Your journey continues via Rose Valley to Dades Gorge. Pass the strange rock creation of Tamnalt Hills.  Dinner and night in the hotel.

After breakfast, travel to Merzouga via the Todra Gorge, the highest oasis valley gorge in Morocco. Arrive in the desert where your guide and camels will carry you across the dunes of the Sahara Desert. As the sun sets, this two-hour camel trek will take you to your desert camp and home for the night, a traditional nomad tent. You will be served mint tea and a simple tagine meal, prepared by your guide.

Watch a spectacular sunrise over the desert dunes before returning to Merzouga to shower and depart. Visit the ancient city of Rissani, origin of ancient Arab dynasties, and see men wearing the indigo blue robes distinctive of the Saharan people. Head toward the volcanic mountains of Sarhro with their dramatic rock formations and gorges with superb views. Experience the largest oasis of Morocco, the Draa valley, lined by palm groves Dinner and night in the hotel.

After breakfast, visit one of Ouarzazate’s main attractions, Taourirt Kasbah, the wonderful former palace of Thami El Glaoui, Pasha of Marrakech in the 19th century. We then travel to Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou one of the most spectacular sights in the south of Morocco. With its adobe walls & spectacular views, it was classified as a UNESCO World Heritage site for its architecture. The ksar was the setting for several movies, including “Laurence of Arabia.” Only five families live in the Kasbahs today. In the afternoon, we head to Marrakech
