Itinerary

This private vacation tour starts with your driver picking you up early in the morning from your hotel and heading toward Ouarzazate via the Tickha Pass, the highest road pass in Morocco. See the panoramic views of the High Atlas Mountains, magnificent landscapes, and small Berber villages. Visit Kasbah Telouet – an extraordinary sight of the Atlas, a palatial residence and headquarters of the powerful Glaoui tribe. Visit Ait Ben Haddou – the UNESCO-protected site that inspired many movie makers. Continue to Ouarzazate. Overnight in Hotel on HB.

In the morning, visit the movie studios in Ouarzazate and another impressive Kasbah Taourirt. Continue your journey off road to the palm tree oasis of Fint. Follow the Road of One Thousand Kasbahs, passing the Skoura oasis onto Rose Valley, famous for Moroccan roses. Pass the strange rock creation of Tamnalt Hills and arrive at Dades Gorge, carved by the Dades River over centuries. Admire the natural beauty of red and mauve rock towers above the road. Overnight in Tamtatouchte, dinner & breakfast.

After a nice breakfast at your hotel in Tamtatouchte, head toward Merzouga. Along the way, enjoy your lunch and also visit the fossils factory. Pass through the ancient city of Rissani. Arrive at Merzouga, a doorway to the desert where your guide and camels will carry you across the sandy dunes of the Sahara Desert. As the sun sets on the desert landscape, a two-hour camel trek will take you to your desert camp and home for the night: a traditional nomad tent. You will be served refreshing mint tea, a symbol of Moroccan hospitality, and a simple tagine meal freshly prepared by your guide. Romantic night full of stars. Overnight in a nomad tent, dinner & breakfast.

Enjoy a beautiful sunrise over the sand dunes and ride the camels back to Merzouga to shower and breakfast. Travel to Efroud and a dramatic change in the scenery. The dry desert will change into the green valley of Ziz with date palms and green gorges. Continue to the Middle Atlas Mountains, passing Ifrane and Azrou. A colony of monkeys in the cedar hillsides will amuse you.
