Itinerary
This private vacation tour starts early in the morning as you depart by 4×4 from the hotel in Marrakech. Drive over the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi-n-Tichka Pass, and enjoy lunch along the way. Continue through the valley of the Draa River with palm trees and old Kasbahs, partly off-road. After Zagora, stop at Tamegroute to visit the famous Koran library and underground Kasbah. Stay in a hostel with dinner in Tagounite.
After breakfast in the hostel, head toward M’hamid, the gate to the desert. From M’hamid, cross the Oued Draa by camel for about three hours through a fantastic desert landscape in Morocco. With luck, see nomads with their animals. Enjoy lunch at a beautiful spot in the desert with dunes and large Tamarisk trees. Continue to the dunes of Chegaga, a large group of soaring dunes. Sleep in nomad tents at the dunes—dinner with entertainment.
After watching the sunrise over the sand dunes and a nice breakfast, depart in 4×4 on the old Paris – Dakar Rally road to Foum Zguid, crossing Lac Iriqui. Enjoy lunch in Taznakht, home of a famous women’s carpet cooperative. Continue our journey toward the Hollywood of Morocco via the Oasis of Fint. Night with dinner in a good hotel in Ouarzazate.
After breakfast at the hotel in Ouarzazate, depart toward the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Travel toward the Pacha Kasbah in Telouat where you will enjoy lunch. Continue through the Atlas Mountains to reach Marrakech in the late afternoon.
