The Dades Valley and the Todra Gorge are two canyon landscapes on the southern side of the High Atlas, between Ouarzazate and the dunes of Merzouga. They are the scenery of the middle days on most Erg Chebbi routes.
The Dades Valley is lined with palm gardens and old kasbahs, which earned the road through it the name Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs, and its gorge has a road that winds up the rock walls in hairpin bends. The Todra Gorge is narrower: the rock walls rise steeply on both sides and you can walk through it on foot, about an hour for a short hike.
If you want a night in the valley or a longer walk in the gorge, describe your plan on the Customized Trips page or contact us.
