Casablanca is Morocco’s largest city, a port and business centre on the Atlantic. It is not an old walled town like Fes or Marrakech; the main reason to stop here is the Hassan II Mosque.
The Hassan II Mosque stands on the edge of the ocean. It is one of the largest mosques in the world and its minaret is the tallest in the world. It is also one of the few mosques in Morocco that visitors who are not Muslim can enter, on a guided tour.
Beyond the mosque, Casablanca is a modern city with Art Deco buildings in the centre and a seafront promenade, the Corniche. Most travellers give it half a day rather than a stay of several nights.
Our 11 day and 15 day Grand Morocco tours end here: the last visit is the Hassan II Mosque, then the transfer to the airport. If you want to start or end another route in Casablanca, describe it on the Customized Trips page or contact us.
